How are you today? How about your work? How about your business? How about your study? How about your family? What will you response to me about these serial questions? You maybe think why Peter asks so many personal questions. I don’t want to answer these questions. Then, you maybe just answer “OH. I am fine. Everything is fine.” Now we change the role, if today is your Dad or Ma asks you these questions, how will you answer to them? Sometimes (maybe always), we just answer “I am Fine. Everything is Fine.” Is it really fine? Or we just don’t want to discuss or don’t want to let them worry us. We use “Fine” to stop the followed questions.
Recently, I watched a very touching movie. The movie’s name is Everybody’s fine. The story occurred at Dec. A man, “Frank” was retried and just lost his wife eight month ago. Now comes the big day (Xmas) when his four children are scheduled to visit him at the old house where they can once again be together around the same table. This man goes about making sure every little thing is perfect for when they arrive. He vacuums the flowers, gets the best steaks and wine he can find.
However, just few days before Xmas, his children called him one by one “Sorry, Dad, I can’t go home because my kid gets fever” “Sorry, Dad, I really want to go home, but I have performance in Europe.” All of they are sorry for not come home. Determined to see his kids, Frank decided to travel across the country to visit each of them. Then, he finds many problems about his children he never known before (or maybe he never observed before.)
Frank first tries to visit his son David in New York City, but finds him not at home. From there, he visits his daughter Amy, who is an advertising agent in Chicago. She lives with her son and husband. However, in one of many discoveries he finds out that not all is well in Amy’s life. He then visits his other son, Robert. Frank had always been under the impression that Robert was a conductor and is surprised to find him merely banging a drum. His children aren’t exactly truthful with him about some things. Frank is confusing why they always say “We are fine. Everybody’s fine!” We always treat our families with the best way “we think it is best”. Maybe work is really so hard that we have not much time to care our families. Please don’t forget that communication is not only one direction. You must give and also accept.
I remember a mother said. If my children tell me that they are fine, I will be happy for them. However, if they can share their life with me, I will be happier. No mater happiness or sadness. We can solve the problems together. I can listen and give support. We must (and should) communicate each other to strong our family.
I think it is not only to strong family, but also in any organizations. Through more communication, we get much realization. We love each other, and we can face any challenges. Next time, when I asks you, please let me know that you are really fine. If not, I will listen!

we may use "fine" to avoid the further discussion in a conversation. And this kind of answer somehow we always used on our parents. May be we just feel too busy to communicate with them. However, one day we figure out that we are not that busy at all and wanna separate some of times to them just for a chill chat, they already gone...
